Guerilla Painter's Pochade Box
A pochade box is a compact, portable painting studio in a small box. "Pochade" is a French word meaning a quick, color sketch. A Guerilla Painter is someone who travels light, with wet paintings completely protected, always ready to paint.
Traditional pochade boxes are characterized by three simple elements: a hinged lid that functions as an easel and wet carrier; a palette that slides out to one side; and the lower portion of the box that contains paints, brushes and other supplies.
Traditional pochade boxes have come in many shapes and sizes and have been used for oils, pastels, and watercolors. These ingenious, old fashioned devices were used extensively by 18th and 19th century landscape painters. They were nearly extinct until now. The Guerilla box can be adapted to any media and is designed to grow with you as your needs change.
The Guerilla Box only weighs 5-1/2 lbs and is easy to use. It is very versatile and can be adapted for use with oils, acrylic or watercolor.
Multi Media Accessories
The Guerilla Box uses a standard camera tripod mount so if you already have a camera tripod you can save some money. You may want to purchase the stone bag which fits between the three legs and allows you to weight down the unit so it doesn't blow over. The Umbrella Clamp Kit features a mounting bracket that becomes part of the box, one less thing to remove. The Umbrella's angle can adjust to any tilt. The umbrella is 22" long when closed. The Paper Towel holder attaches to the front or side. Mighty brush washer is a lightweight, jar with stainless steel screen that stores neatly in box. Palette Extensions double your mixing area. Features a built in parking slot for the Hang Up Brush caddy. The Brush caddy is white enameled aluminum and measures 7" x 3-1/2" x 7/8". The Brush Tray is 1-1/8" x 3-7/8" x 12" fits ins More Info |
