This is a spare knib that you can buy to replace the knib that comes with the pen. If the brush wears out, simply purchase a new knib and keep using the same pen!
There are many "knock offs" of this pen available on the internet at lower prices. This however, is the original sumi brush pen made in Japan. The quality of the "look a likes" can not compare to these pens. Yes, the Japanese labor costs are considerably higher than other countries but you do get what you pay for.
