Yuzen Art Scene Prints

Yuzen Art Scene Prints

Yuzen-Art Scenes are usually sold as frameable art. These fine silkscreened prints are hand-printed on handmade, acid-free k'zo (mulberry) paper. The quality of the printing is stunning, not to mention the beauty of the scenes themselves and the colors that are used in each print. Prints of this quality are hard to find, and we are thrilled to be able to offer them. We will add to this collection over the coming months. The photographs of these prints do not do them justice- they truly are incredibly beautiful and well worth the price!

Tanabata Festival

Tanabata Festival

Description: Another Japanese tradition that uses paper! July 7th is Tanabata, or the Star Festival, in Japan. This event is based on a Chinese legend, in which Kengyuu (the star Alter) meets Orihime (the star Vega) only once a year on this day over the Milky Way. People celebrate this day by putting up big branches of bamboo with colourful decorations at home, then they hang a strip of paper with a wish written on it. Many cities, such as Sendai and Hiratsuka, also celebrate this event by putting up beautifully decorated bamboo branches in the main streets. This sheet is absolutely incredible. The color and printing on every square inch is just gorgeous! The sheet is highlighted by metallic gold and silver printing.
