Tri-Art Nepheline Gel Course - Nepheline Gels are a semi-transparent medium used to create flexible, granular textures. They mix easily with acrylic colors and mediums to create a variety of effects. Liquid acrylics are especially effective as tinting agents. Nepheline Gels boast the same flexibility and adhesive qualities as all other TriArt Gels and can provide an interesting surface for pastel work and mixed media application.
In her book "The New Acrylics," artist Rheni Tauchid uses Nepheline gels to create many unique effects- like the acrylic ball pictured here. This picture shows a ball that has been coated in a mixture of Nepheline gel and metallic copper acrylic. The Nepheline gel gives a stucco like effect!
