Itajime Shibori Flower Paper from Japan

Shibori is the Japanese art of making intricate folds in paper or fabric, and then dying the folded material. The result is a beautiful paper (or fabric!) that looks like very intricate tie dye. Often done using indigo alone, these papers have been dyed in complimentary colors. The folding and dying process makes the sheets look like they are covered in orchid flowers! Every sheet is unique and completely hand folded and hand dyed. The base is white Japanese kozo (mulberry paper). Smooth surface. 4 deckle edges. Approximately 36.75in x 24.75in (Size of handmade paper varies slightly).
