Lace Papers
Lace papers are made using jets of water that rinse paper pulp away from a stenciled design. After pulp has been pulled onto a screen, the screen is then placed over a stencil. Jets of water displace the pulp, creating the design. Most lace papers are made using mulberry (kozo) fiber and rayon fiber. The rayon fibers make the lightweight papers more durable. These are extremely popular for collage, decoupage, lampshades, and interleaving.
