Amate bark paper is handmade in Mexico, using traditions that go back for centuries. Amate has been a part of Mexican culture since pre-Columbian Meso-American times. These beautiful sheets are quite sturdy and ideal for artwork ranging from painting to collage to lampshades and window treatments. Our giant sheets have been used for interior decorating; designers use them to cover an entire accent wall! The sheets measure approximately 47.25 inches by 94.5 inches (nearly 4 feet by 8 feet!).
